Education and Outreach

The Mission of the IMCS Education and Outreach (E&O) group is to promote ocean literacy through the development of a broad range of products and services using the unique scientific resources and assets of IMCS.

The group has three major goals:

  1. Create nationally recognized informal science education and outreach products and services that support ocean science literacy, and meet high standards based on evaluation and assessment data.
  2. Support scientists and their research interests by delivering the highest quality research-based products and services to IMCS clients (teachers, students, legislators, etc.).
  3. Conduct evaluation and assessment of education and outreach programs to support the development and implementation of best practices in marine education.
