Dedicated volunteers are essential in helping the Jacques Cousteau Research Reserve fulfill its mission of improving the management of New Jersey coastal environments through science, education and stewardship. It just wouldn’t happen without them.
Volunteers can participate in a wide range of vital activities including leading tours and providing interpretation to the visiting public, perform clerical and administrative duties, help maintain our Rain Garden, work with computers and other equipment, assist with workshops for teachers, children and coastal decision makers, represent the Cousteau Reserve at community events, and even recruit other volunteers.
As a volunteer, you will meet new people, learn new skills and be trained by the Jacques Cousteau Reserve staff in topics ranging from estuarine environments to current coastal issues to the ancient Japanese art of Gyotaku.
